About this work

During the pandemic, my wife and I moved from a tiny studio in the downtown core to an apartment in the West End of Toronto. My series of works entitled ‘Still, Life’, captures life during this paradoxical period under the ‘stay at home’ order.

The Longest Winter was my first large-scale tapestry and was created using an Oxford punch needle and a rug hook. There are in excess of 83,000 stitches in this work, each done methodically by hand without mechanisation.
