About this work

Created for Toronto show, ‘Artifacts’ at DesignTO, 46 Bedford Road captures a floating mantelpiece at Guild Park in Scarborough, Toronto. The architectural fragment is taken from the former home of Noble Prize winner Sir Frederick Banting, which was constructed in the late 1920s and later demolished.

Guild Park is home to many of Toronto’s razed landmarks which have been restaged within its leafy parkland, adding a haunting and nostalgic element to the woodlands.
